Photoshop ABQ is a fun and innovative way to learn how to use photoshop! And the best part: it's absolutely free. It was created as a project for an honors' class at the University of New Mexico. Below is everything you need to know.
In order to play, you need:
- An IOS device (ie. iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad)
- Photoshop CS2 or above
- Mobility around the Albuquerque area (not required for play, but helpful)
To get started, follow these simple steps:
- On your IOS device, search and install “ARIS” for free.
- Once it is installed, create a new account, which will give you access to every game built on the ARIS platform.
- In ARIS, search for “Photoshop ABQ,” and you will find the game.
- Follow the instructions, and have fun!
ARIS is a mobile-based platform that uses both GPS and wireless triangulation to find your location. In the final version of Photoshop ABQ, a game built on the ARIS platform, play will require that the individuals explore Albuquerque as they take photos, and tutorials can be accessed from anywhere after they are unlocked, allowing players to simultaneously view tutorials from their IOS device and use Photoshop from home. After tutorials are unlocked, they will stay available for players to access at any time. Progress through the game allows for more sophisticated tutorials to be accessed, including video tutorials and advanced Photoshop techniques.
Enjoy, and feel free to send me feedback. Thanks!
